Fifty Shades of Darker

Three days since leaving Christian, Anastasia “Ana” Steele is heartbroken by her decision to leave Christian. She claims that the pain of not being with him is worse than the physical pain that caused her to break up with him. Christian and Ana are unable to deny their feelings for each other, and the two reunite. She has begun her job at Seattle Independent Publishing (SIP), where she has been hired as personal assistant to editor Jack Hide.

Ana gets an uneasy feeling about him as he continually asks her out, but writes it off. In some days Ana cannot sleep without crying. Christian emails her to see if she needs a ride to her friend Jose Rodriguez’s gallery exhibit in Portland, which she had forgotten about until Christian emailed her. It is the first time in a while she haven’t cried myself to sleep.

They go to Portland by Charlie Tango, Christian’s helipad. Ana think’s that this is the romantic things. They arrived in Jose’s show, many people look at Ana and Christian. Ana thinks that many people look at her because she walks with Christian. But she know that meny people look at her  because Jose show her close up portraits in his galeri. Christian buys Jose’s portraits of Ana for selfish reason, one of which is prevent random people from buying them and displaying them in their homes, and the second is for his own amusement.

Christian ask Ana to leave galeri and say goodbye to Jose. But Ana make Christian jealous with give kisses to Jose in his cheek. Christian anger and he takes her hand and say goodbye to Jose and they leave the Galeri. The pair attends the show together and reconciles their relationship by kissing in an alley. He grabs her face between his hands, forcing her to look up into his ardent determined eyes. She gasp, and his mouth swoops down. He’s kissing her, violently. Briefly their teeth clash, then his tongue is in her mouth.
They eat in small and intimate restaurant with the Wooden chairs, linen tablecloths, and walls the same color as Christian’s playroom—deep blood red—with small gilt mirrors randomly placed, white candles, and small vases of white roses.   Christian wants Ana to eat, because Ana’s body become thin after fitth days they never communication. They eat in romantic condition with soft music.

Christian deliver Ana to her apartment. He give a box gift to Ana and he said that she must open the gift when she in the room. Ana enter to her house and Christian go home. Ana opens the gift box and find her MacBook Pro laptop, the Black¬berry, and another rectangular box. She unwrap the silver paper. Inside is a black, slim, leather case. Opening the case, She find an iPad. A white card is resting on the screen with a message written in Christian’s handwriting. She have to e-mail him to thank him. His response makes her smile, still so bossy, still so Christian. And she realize in that moment that she hope not. She likes him like this—commanding—as long as she can stand up to him without fear of punishment.

The one good thing about being car-less is that on the bus on her way to work, Ana can plug her headphones into her iPad while it’s safely in her purse and listen to all the wonderful tunes Christian has given her. By the time Ana arrive at the office, she have the most ludicrous grin on her face. She switch on the computer to start work, finishing her latte and eating a banana. There’s an e-mail from Christian. Ana and the staff in his office goes to bar the name fifthy. And Christian said that he will comes to the ber to see her.

Christian reveals to Ana that he has bought SIP, but the deal must stay secret for another month. Ana is furious that Christian is interfering in her career, especially after he freezes the company’s accounts so that she cannot go on overnight business trip to New York with Jack. Ana wants to go to New York and she sit waiting for his response. Nothing arrives. She calls the airline and book a ticket for herself, ensuring She is on the same flight as Jack. She hear the ping of new mail. She check to see if She still have his e-mails, and they have disappeared. This man’s influence knows no bounds. Christian insists that it was for her own protection, because Jack is a “known philanderer”, as he apparently harassed his last five assistants. Christian secretly purchases the company, much to Ana’s chagrin. But when Jack sexually harasses and tries to assault Ana, Christian has him firmed.

Jack returns after midday and tells Ana that New York is off for her though he is still going and there’s nothing he can do to change senior management policy. He strides into his of¬fice, slamming the door, obviously furious. Deep down, Ana know his intentions are less than honorable, but she is sure she can deal with him, and Ana wonder what Christian knows about Jack’s previous PAs. Ana park these thoughts and continue with some work, but resolve to try to make Christian change his mind, though the prospects are bleak. At one o’clock, Jack pokes his head out of the office door.

After our wonderful weekend, the reality is hitting home. Ana have never felt more like running. Running to some quiet retreat so she can think about this man, about how he is, and about how to deal with him. On one level, She know he’s broken she can see that clearly now and it’s both heartbreaking and exhausting. From the small pieces of precious infor-mation that he’s given her about his life, She understand why. An unloved child; a hideously abusive environment; a mother who couldn’t protect him, whom he couldn’t protect, and who died in front of him.

With a heavy heart, Ana drag one of the manuscripts Jack wants her to summarize into my lap and continue to read. She can think of no easy solution to Christian’s fucked-up control issues. Ana will just have to talk to him later, face to face. Half an hour later, Jack e-mails Ana a document that she needs to tidy up and polish, ready for printing tomorrow in time for his conference. It will take her not just the rest of the afternoon but well into the evening, too. She set to work. When Ana look up, it’s after seven and the office is deserted, though the light in Jack’s office is still on. Ana hadn’t noticed everyone leaving, but she is nearly finished.
Ana e-mail the document back to Jack for his approval and check my inbox. There’s nothing new from Christian, so she quickly glance at her Blackberry, and it startles her by buzzing—it’s Chris¬tian. He leans over her while she retrieve the document, rather close—uncomfortably close. His arm brushes hers. She flinch, but he pretends not to notice. His other arm rests on the back of her chair, touching her back. She sit up so she is not leaning against the backrest. Her skin crawls at his proximity, but she choose to ignore it.
Opening the document, Ana shakily start on the changes. He’s still leaning over her, and all my senses are hyperaware. Jack sits on the end of her desk and frowns. Alarm bells sound loudly in her head. She is on her own in the office. Ana cannot leave. She glance nervously at the clock. Another five minutes before Christian is due.

Their suspicions about Jack prove correct when he corners Ana after hours and blackmails her, demanding sexual favors. Christian, desperate to keep Ana in his live, wrestles with his inner demons, and Ana struggles to create a life that fits with that of Christian’s without sacrificing her on identity. Ana’s self-defense training allows her to escape. Christian has Jack fired and confiscates his work computer.
While attending a masquerade ball at Dr. and Mr. Grey’s residence, Ana meets Elena Lincoln (whom Ana nicknames Mrs. Robinson) for the first time and finds out that Elena and Christian own a salon business together. Later, Ana is auctioned off and Christian bids $100,000 for the first dance with her. Ana is disgusted that Christian continues to be friends with the woman who seduced him when he was only 15 years old, and initially introduced him to the BDSM lifestyle. When Elena realizes that Christian sees Ana as a girlfriend and not a submissive, she becomes antagonistic towards Ana, trying to sow discord in the budding relationship.

Ana is being stalked at work by a disturbed Leila Williams, one of Christian’s former submissive. Leila Williams, who was suffering mental breakdown, was obsessed with finding out what Ana had that made Christian love her. Despite Christian’s reassurances to the contrary, Ana is still insecure about not being able to meet Christian’s sexual needs. Fearing their relationship is over because of how he acted around Leila when she was found, seeing that he will always want to control and cannot live without it.

Ana’s fear intensifies when she discovers that Leila has a gun. It is revealed Leila’s obsession began after her lover died in a car crash four months before, leading to a mental breakdown. Leila breaks into Ana’s apartment and threatens her at gunpoint. Christian defuses the situation by utilizing their dominant/ submissive dynamic, but this leaves Ana worried that Christian cannot be satisfied with a vanilla relationship. Ana confronts Christian about Leila. Fearing she is leaving again, he impulsively proposes, but Ana needs time to consider it.

Jose drives to Seattle to visit Ana. Christian still views Jose as a romantic rival, and only permits Ana to see him if they both stay at Escala. On the night of Jose’s visit (and the night before Christian’s 28th birthday), Christian goes missing while flying from Portland to Seattle in his helicopter with Ros Bailey. He safely makes it back to Escala, and explains that both helicopter’s engines failed; sabotage is suspected. Ana realizes she never wants to be without him and accepts his marriage proposal.

The next day, The Grey family throws Christian large birthday party at their mansion. Kate worries about Ana after finding an email between Ana and Christian, discussing the BDSM Contract. Ana assures Kate that her relationship with Christian is a vanilla one. After Christian and Ana announce their engagement, Elene angrily confronts Ana, accusing her of being a “gold-digger”, and claims a vanilla relationship will never satisfy Christian. Grace Grey, Christian’s adoptive mother, overhears the argument and is furious that Elena preyed on her teenage son. Elena leaves in disgrace and Christian decides to end their business relationship.

Christian takes Ana to the boathouse, which is decorated with flowers and soft lights. He proposes properly with a ring and Ana accepts. Outside the Grey’s mansion, Jack Hyde is secretly watching the party; he reveals that he sabotaged Christian’s helicopter and swear revenge.Ana is still insecure about not being able to meet Christian’s sexual needs. Fearing their relationship is over because of how he acted around Leila when she was found, seeing that he will always want control and cannot live without it.

At this moment, Christian breaks down begging Ana to still be with him and never leave him again. He asks her to marry him, but she tells him that she needs to think about her answer. Ana realises she could’t live without him and say yes through her birthday gift to Christian which he receives after showing up when everyone though he was dead after his helicopter went missing on a day trip he was on. Shortly after, Christian, inside a flower covered room, properly asks Ana to marry him again which she say yes.
